Project information

Spread over an exhibition area of 100 m², the students from Eindhoven will be presenting selected projects from eight architecture and urban design offices from their home city, with the goal of emphasising the new approaches and styles of the local architecture. To lend the exhibition greater depth, the exhibition furniture was also designed by the students and placed in context with the objects on display.

Visitors are guided through furniture made of BauBuche S Board, where the CNC-milled surfaces are connected using threaded rods with spacing between them to create narrow gaps between the elements. This design means that the shadows cast change depending on how the light falls: the result is a unique setting for the objects on display. The surfaces of the exhibition furniture are made of BauBuche Panel X as with this product the fine veneer layers are shown off to particular advantage. The students were very clear about their decision to use BauBuche; after all, they were in search of an innovative material which could be used for both load-bearing structures and decorative applications.

“The most aesthetically appealing material on the market which combines an innovative production method and impressive technical properties. This was the only way for our complicated structure to be realised.”
