In order to expand the available floor space, a second floor was created which extended over part of the maisonette. This resulted in 14 m² of additional living space.
Thanks to the use of BauBuche, both the structural elements and the decorative interior parts could be made from the same material. This, in turn, creates a sense of unity between the load-bearing structure and the newly created gallery / window to the bedroom.
In addition to the technical properties of BauBuche, it was precisely this visual link between the individual areas of application which convinced the client to opt for this material. He described BauBuche as “a wholly new take on beechwood products” which represents a “great alternative to conventional laminated veneer lumber made from softwood” in all aspects (technical properties, look, cost efficiency).
