Beech

Beech, lightly steamed.

The solid beechwood panels have no visible surface defects on the face (side A), and are sorted for homogeneous colour. The back (side B) similarly has no visible surface defects, but is not sorted according to colour.

General quality characteristics of Pollmeier

  • Wood species: German beechwood / redheart beech – lightly steamed
  • Moisture content: 7 – 9 %
  • Version: with end-to-end lamellas
  • Glueing: Stress group D 3  (Interiour use with frequent short-term exposure to running water or condensation water and/or long-term exposure to high atmospheric humidity. Exteriour use if protected from weather), technically flawless glueing, butt joined and glued with white glue PVAC, free from formaldehyde
  • Finish: grit 80
  • Tolerances: +/- 5 mm length or width, +/- 0,3 mm thickness
  • Diagonal stability: max. 2,5 mm warpage per meter
  • Quantities delivered: Over- / underdelivery max. 10% per item
  • Minimum order quantity: approx. 30 pcs per dimension
  • Packaging: panels,, on euro-pallet (on loan), foil-wrapped, secured by straps

Side A

(Face without visible surface defects and sorted for homogeneous colour)

Permitted features:

  • solid grown sound knots
  • individual closed small knots up to a diameter of 3 mm
  • individual discolorations and mineral spots, becoming visible after sanding (50 mm long and 3 mm wide)
  • slight variances in colour, partially caused by year ring structure

 

The grading of the back side in non visible areas will be discussed individually with the customer.

Side B

(Back side without visible surface defects, but not sorted according to colour)

Additionally permitted features:

  • small knots up to a Ø of 5 mm
  • singular discolorations and mineral spots, appearing after sanding
  • colour differences
